9 Memorable Youth Group Games To Help Memorise The Bible

Remember

Memorising the Bible is a really awesome habit to get into. And I think it is a great thing that we can teach younger Christians to do. So that they can get some Bible into their minds, and get into the habit of memorising it.

These games are designed to help younger Christians (or older ones) memorise parts of the Bible. These games do not have a number of people next to them, as they could be suited to any number, or modified for a large group or a small Bible study. Some of these games would be more appropriate for younger kids, but some would be appropriate for all ages, you can be the judge for your group. Below is the list of games, and read below the break for a detailed description of each game.

  1. Cut Up Bible Verse In Balloons
  2. Bible Verse Amazing Race
  3. Erase The Words
  4. Bible Verse Relay
  5. B-I-N-G-* (That’s a clap)
  6. Bible Jigsaw
  7. Bible Verse Song
  8. Action Words
  9. SMS Memory

Can You Swat a Fly With An iPad?

Here’s a funny ad that has come out from a US newspaper. I hope you enjoy it.

Apparently Apple wrote a cease and desist letter to the newspaper, they don’t like to see their stuff smashed..

Calum’s Concise Blog Summary #14

So I got married recently (July), woo!

Married life is awesome, but I’d say I’ve probably had less head space for blogging after marriage then I did have before getting married. This has meant that I haven’t been blogging as regularly as I used to, but that’s cool.

Recently I’ve been wanting to get back into writing a few blog posts, and so I am, and I’m enjoying it once again. Cos blogging is awesome.

I’m going to keep blogging, but it definitely wont be daily, probably more likely to be a few times a week. I hope you enjoy what I keep putting up.

But for now, here’s what has happened on calumhenderson.com since the last summary.

This Is Life Wrap

The “This is Life” mission at Sydney Uni has come to a close.

During the mission more than 10 people became Christians and many others are still having discussions about topics related to the mission. It was a great time on campus!

This is Life Chalk

There was quite a bit of opposition to the campaign, including anti-posters (“This is Fraud”), as well as letters to Honi Soit (Student publication) and little stickers that were stuck on the posters. I think this demonstrates how much the message of life that Jesus proclaims grinds with our culture. That people don’t want to live for Jesus, but that they want control of their lives.

I wrote three blog posts on the mission website

This Is Why I Tell People About Jesus

I love them.

If you have ever heard me talking about my faith, or asking people along to church or a Christian event at Uni and thought it was a bit strange, or thought “why doesn’t he just keep that to himself?”  then read on, this post is for you.

Let me give you a senario.

There is a burning house, and inside that house is a man. You see that man and you want to help him, because if you don’t you know he will die. You see an open door, but for some reason the man inside can’t see the door, and so doesn’t know how to get out. Surely you want to yell out and tell that man about the door, and direct him towards it? You want him to live and not die. That is the loving thing to do.

Burning House

This is what it is like for me.

I believe that those who believe in Jesus will inherit eternal life, and that those who don’t believe in him will be punished forever in hell.

I love my friends and people around me, and so I want them to be saved from punishment that we all deserve because we disobey God. I want everyone instead to live forever with God instead. That is why I tell people about Jesus. Not because I want to force my views on them, but because I love them.

If you want to find out more about this then go here, read a Bible, ask me a question or contact me.

PPT Tip #5 | Blue on Black

Blue writing on a black background is nearly impossible to read at the best of times, so please reserve blue text for highlighting links on a white background…

Also, yellow text on a white background is no fun.

And if you ever use a pink background for anything…

Consider good colour choice when designing a PPT presentation. Check out this site for some hints.

Have you seen any other colours that have hurt your eyes in a presentation?
