Blue writing on a black background is nearly impossible to read at the best of times, so please reserve blue text for highlighting links on a white background…
Also, yellow text on a white background is no fun.
And if you ever use a pink background for anything…
Consider good colour choice when designing a PPT presentation. Check out this site for some hints.
Have you seen any other colours that have hurt your eyes in a presentation?
The new iPhone was announced earlier this week by Apple, and I for one am very excited by the possibilities that this new device will have for Ministry.
High Def video looks great. Example, view this YouTube video that I made in full screen and make sure that you have it set to 720p.
Looks sharp eh? That’s because there are heaps more pixels in that video, meaning greater detail and more prettiness.
When the new iPhone is out and about in a few months, you will be able to use your phone to make videos of this quality!
Another exciting announcement was the release of iMovie for iPhone, which means that you can edit these movies right on your iPhone, and publish them to YouTube. You’ll be able to get the videos that you make out very very quickly!
I’m imagining people in ministry being able to make a really quick, really high quality videos, whenever they want. These could include leaders sending out videos to group members instead of a long email, or it could mean a very quick advertising video being made, or it could mean a video showing how fun an event was will be that much easier to make. Possibilities!
I’m excited to use these new features, and you’ll be sure to find some iPhone 4 made videos right here at calumhenderson.com in the coming months.
Today (or tomorrow Australian time), Steve Jobs will be giving one of his famous keynote speeches that will unveil the new iPhone and most probably wow the world.
I found this cool video showing some tips on how to present like Steve Jobs, and I thought it was helpful enough to share with you all.
I was thinking through how to apply these to Bible talks/sermons and would like to hear if anyone else has any thoughts.

YouTube is currently celebrating their 5th anniversary. It’s crazy to think that a site that receives over 2 billion views a day started only 5 years ago. They have made a video of a short history. And it is fascinating to watch.
I’ve had a YouTube account for almost two years now, and I have really enjoyed making all of the videos, and sharing them. My channel has a combined total of over 10000 views over 33 videos, you can visit my channel here (DACTproductions).
A bunch of people have made videos about their YouTube story, and seeing as it’s such a big event, I couldn’t resist. So below I have included my YouTube story for you all to watch.
I’m really proud of some of the editing techniques that I have used in this video, but I didn’t think through everything that I said fully. Having said that, what you view above is My YouTube Story.
Have you ever sat in a presentation where they try to show you a video during the presentation, only to move out of the presentation, show you their ugly desktop background and then open a movie file, only to play it in a small window on the screen. Does anyone else find that frustrating or is it just me?
It is really easy these days to embed (put in) a video into your presentation. All you need to do is drag and drop the file and it will open, and when you come to the video in your presentation it will start playing, without any exiting of your presentation.
This will allow for a much more professional presentation and for such a simple trick, it still seems to wow some people.
Last year, Ancon took over Facebook. Tons of people put Ancon pictures as their profile pictures, and this helped create a whole heap of buzz for Ancon, and got lots of people psyched for it. You can read about it here. (And if you don’t know what Ancon is, then read this)
So I thought that I would try to help everyone out, and create a few pics that people can use for their profile pics if they want to.
Below are two square pics, which mean that your thumbnail will also have all of the text. There is also a longer pic which is designed to blend into your Facebook wall, as well as being a good thumbnail. I got the idea for this from this great post.
