Recently at Uni we had a lecture where it was suggested that “minor” classroom infractions aren’t really minor at all. When they are added up over time, they can really effect learning. I think the cartoon above demonstrates that.
I also hope that I wont be ignoring these small issues but will instead be concentrating on how to best teach the students so that they can learn.

Ok Go, the makers of the YouTube video with treadmills have just released a new video on YouTube. It’s called “This Too Shall Pass – Rube Goldberg Machine version” and is absolutely incredible! Watch it below.
As part of the advertising campaign for the big three (public meetings, small groups, ancon) within the SUEU (Sydney Uni Evangelical Union), the 5SyncBoys performed their smash hit single, “Get Involved” from their album “The EU and U”. Below is a video recording of the performance. The 5SyncBoys were said to be happy with the performace and were quoted on their Facebook Page saying,
“[A shout out] to all our fans, without whom we would just be 5 extremely good-looking, well-dressed guys…”
The 5SyncBoys currently have no shows lined up but may have some exciting projects coming up in the future.
This year, for the very first time, there is going to be an Education and Social Work Revue at Sydney Uni!
A revue is basically a show with sketches, singing, dancing and acting. And this one is going to be amazing!
At Sydney Uni O-Week, we saw a glimpse of what will be performed later in the year. The “Detention Block Tango”, a great play on the “Cell Block Tango” from Chicago.
If you want more information about the revue, then head over to their website at http://www.edswrevue.com/. And if you’re an education or social work student at Sydney Uni, then why not get involved? They have a number of positions open here.
The Winter Olympics, out of all the Olympics, is definitely my favourite Olympics.
I’ve been thinking (with the help of some friends) about some sports that should be added to the Winter Olympics. This year, Ski Cross was added to the games, which is basically 4 skiers going down a course and bumping into each other. Now it’s my turn, so here are 5 sports that should (not) be in the next Winter Olympics.
1. Bobsleigh Biathalon
I’m sure you all know what the bobsleigh is, and for those who don’t know, the biathlon involves skiing, and then shooting. This event would involve bobsleigh, with targets at points in the track for the people in the back of the bobsleigh to shoot (those guys don’t do much at the moment anyway). Think of it as drive by bobsleigh.
2. Double Skeleton
Sports down a bobsleigh track have gotten steadily more dangerous. Bobsleigh, luge, double luge, skeleton (face first luge), so naturally, double skeleton is next. Two guys, on their stomachs, going 130km/h on ice. Now that’s a sport!
3. Pentaluge
So if double luge wasn’t hardcore enough, why not stack ‘em 5 high? That could be fun(ny).
4. Snowboard Cross (Where tricks get you bonus time)
4 years ago, Lindsey Jacobellis went down in the Gold Medal snowboard cross event, trying to do a trick in the air. Now if she was used to doing tricks in races, maybe she wouldn’t have gone down. But surely tricks would make the sport more fun?
5. Car Skating
On Top Gear recently, they raced a car against a speed skater on an ice rink. Wouldn’t it be great to see two cars race each other on ice? Maybe even a whole grid of 20 cars. That would be pretty fun…
Well that’s it for me, what about you? Do you have any sports that should be added to the best Olympics?
