Hopefully my ad wont be blank like this one...
As you’ve probably noticed, I’m now offering advertising on my blog.
I’m now getting over 5000 views a month on this blog, and apparently that’s a stage at which you can start thinking about advertising on the web. I applied to an advertising network (Beacon Ads) and got accepted, and as a result now have one ad slot available.
I’m not looking to make tons of money from advertising, but I am looking to hopefully cover some of the costs of running this blog. That way I’ll be able to run this blog for years to come without having to think of what it is costing me.
This is a complete experiment for me, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if nobody bought advertising. If nobody does, I’ll probably give up, or look for another way in which I can try to cover the costs of running this blog. But we’ll see how this goes for now, and hopefully it’ll get my blog to be “in the black” as a result.
If you would like to advertise on this blog, then please follow this link to purchase ad slots, and if you want you can also contact me.
If you’ve got a blog, I’d love to hear of your experiences with advertising in the comments below.

yeah cool. i’m about to do the same thing: http://davemiers.com/2011/07/01/pinch-punch-july-2011/
i signed up with beacon a year ago, and have spent a year umming and arring… but i think i’ll do it.
i used to have google ads (5 years ago)
but the ads were too hit and miss, not able to control.
i think i made $5! (but they don’t pay until you reach 25 or 50!!)
i like the control you can get with beacon.
let me know how you go! (or i’ll just keep an eye out)
Hey Dave,
I read your post just after I got accepted by Beacon.
Looking forward to seeing how you’ll go, and I’ll keep you posted on how I’m doing.
